I need help with my 1922 S

Post by bhinkle » Sun Nov 24, 2019 12:15 am

I have a 1922 S PCGSMS62, with a double wing clash.
I think it is a Reverse B2: 3 mountain peaks and
attached olive branch.
I saw the vams 1D and 2AF, that looks close to double
wing clash.
I see the W clash in WE, under the M, in UNUM, on the
reverse.
I see a double clashes running out of the olive leaves.
I see a curved clash running up, from the bottom of
the wing feather and I think I see a very faint V or
jaw/neck clash, in the ray, above the top/back wing.
I see a die crack running through the R and through
the cap ball, on the obverse.
I also see a curved line running along and through
the edge, above the R on the obv and below the date.
I don't see any of those clashes, on the vams 1D or 2AF.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Bert

Bert, looks like you have a VAM 2AF2, note the die crack from lower R thru to TY. My discovery piece is in JR's hands right now so I can't 100% confirm, but sure looks like a 2AF2 to me.... :D

WOW! THANK YOU Jody and Dr Close.
Here are some more pictures of the Y and B.
I keep noticing the rims or edges and I'm only going, by what I have seen,
on vams attributed with a 'collar clash', especially on the last picture, showing
the E and the rim above., like with all of the tiny dash like marks.
It will be interesting to see Jody, if your discovery vam has those and the,
what looks like, the clash under the M, the two lines, running out of the olive
leaves, the back bottom/tip of the wing.
For me, this is why learning more, about vams, is so interesting and fun.
Thanks, Bert

My pleasure Bert! Hey, I don't remember mine having a collar clash  I'm sure I would have noticed a collar clash, especially on the obv! Your could be a LDS of mine. I should get the discovery piece back from ANACS in a few week.
Awesome find my friend! :D
