This is a variety that is typically EF-AU. A bit scarce in MS grades. This goes for both VAM 18 and 18A, since the distinction wasn't always made.

It's not on one of the lists PCGS attributes.

now comes the arduous (but joyous) decision of what to do with it/where to send it.

It all depends on your personal preference, but the pecking order for VAMs seems to be PCGS, then ANACS, then NGC.

Well This VAM has a place in my heart! I own a VAM-18a in PCGS MS-63+ that was an NCG MS-64 and a PCGS MS-63 I also own a VAM-18 in PCGS MS-62 that is somewhat PL and an NGC MS-63

The VAM-18 seems to be the rarest of the 2 types and the amount of "Art Work" done in both of the Eagles wings is remarkable. The semi PL MS-62 has more contact marks but the devices have some frosted contrast that highlights the Re-Detailing of the die.

I mis-spoke I have a MS-62 and 63 in the V 18 and a 63 and 63= in the V-18a
