Acetone soak + stick poke first, then report back and we'll go from there.

It's been poked and soaked prior to the original pics (not sure what I'm poking

) I hit it with a acetone soaked swab again and this is the result...

It looks 3-dimensional to me (i.e. something on the surface of the coin).
Do you have an ultrasonic cleaner? If so, give it a ride in an ammonia/dish soap mix.
