Post by jrfaust » Tue Nov 12, 2019 11:48 pm

Hello all, I need a little expertise on if this would be considered a O die defect similar to the 1923 P 1AN. If not, what the heck is it? :? Here are a few pics with different lighting.....Thanks in advance for all comments :D

Acetone soak + stick poke first, then report back and we'll go from there.

It's been poked and soaked prior to the original pics (not sure what I'm poking  ) I hit it with a acetone soaked swab again and this is the result...

It looks 3-dimensional to me (i.e. something on the surface of the coin).

Do you have an ultrasonic cleaner? If so, give it a ride in an ammonia/dish soap mix.
