Greetings VW, A few years ago, I accomplished my first goal as a Morgan collector. I had accumulated an entire set of business strike Morgans as to date and mintmark combinations. Nothing special, other that having 100 Morgans in hand. Recently, I completed an upgrade to all being graded and attributed, and now there are 103. 64 dollar question-What is the correct total for business strike, date/mm, Morgan combinations? I don't know for sure, around 100?
All depends on how you count them. The PCGS basic set only has 97, omitting the three Rev 78/79 combinations, O/S, 87/6s. The major varieties set has 117, which includes more than many would consider the full set, including 79-CC VAM 3, several 80-CC, Hot Lips -- probably all the Red Book varieties.

Thanks for those comments. The only one I didn't know about was the 1880 cc rev 78 and 1880 cc rev 79. I treated them as 2 separate varieties. I am going to put up an abbreviated list of mine for anyone who so desires can add or delete where they feel I necessary. this could take a bit, but I shall return.
