Let me start by apologizing for posting about a modern quarter, but I have never seen one quite like This and cannot find any information online on this quarter in particular not on eBay not on Heritage not on anywhere. So please if you have seen one or have one or have info on how many of these are out there please let me know. This 1973 quarter is just like the original in my opinion with some slight variations as the 1888 o
morgan. Starting at 10 o clock and through the nose instead of the 1888o where it goes through the eye but anlges downward across the cheek just like this quarter, then angling down and right through the cheek going through the neck down to the date! Also, there is a die crack starting at "Y" of liberty and goes down and right and makes a triangle shape between 2 and 3 o'clock! The reverse is off by a some degrees as well. The mint really the usage out thie die used on this series of quarters that's for certain. What an amazing modern error with the same breakdown in die as the famous 1888 o morgan in my opinion and probably really rare but I do not know and am numismatically curious. What do you think do you have one too? Please comment and let me know if should send it in to authenticate it. Thanks. Mike.

Hard to tell, but looks like residue or staining to me.

It definitely is raised and is a die crack and it does have stain, but it is a die crack. I have a couple that have staining without cracks, but when ya run a finger over it, you can feel it

What happens when you rub a swab soaked in acetone over it?
