Back from NGC
Yeah, you read that right - first time I've ever submitted an order to them. Five GSA soft packs that I dropped off in Baltimore last month. I just had them grade the pieces and the attributions are mine.

Re: Back from NGC
Know that's your date & mint,JR,but how did that 81-O get in the there? All of them are pretty impressive!!! Congrats!!! Looks like your are very happy with the grades, but i'd be wary of the Vam attributions:) And I hope your going to tell us,What's the reasoning behind this NGC move?
Re: Back from NGC
Bigjayvee....Very funny, re: the VAM attributions. Vampicker... congrats on the pickin'.

Re: Back from NGC
The reason for the NGC plastic is that I got sick of waiting for my employer to offer this service for soft packs. I needed grades on them for my 78-CC GSA Registry set with the SSDC. Catching me on this set just got A LOT harder.
The 81-O has been sitting in my collection for nearly twenty years, so it was high time I got it graded.

BTW, I have a few Peace Dollars in GSA soft packs and Paramount holders. If I get those done, that would define the dark side.

John,
Congrats on the coins!
Wanted to see if you remember years back about a certain 7A that was detail? Now, I see you have 2 of them graded and the one you have in your CC set. They are tough to come by.

That's an excellent return JR, congrats.
Re: Back from NGC
I figured it had something to do with the soft packs!!! Learned something today. Congrats Again,John on an awesome set!!!!!
Re: Back from NGC
Jimmy, none of the pieces are new purchases. I found my pair of VAM 7A examples maybe about a year apart. I posted the first on VAMworld when I found it. I've had these for a few years. It's been eight years since my 78-CC book was released, and at that time I was aware of 14 distinct varieties in GSA holders for the date. We're now up to 20. Still watching for the other 5 VAMs that remain unknown in GSA.

Here's the link to the thread from 2011 when I found the first known VAM 7A in a soft pack

JR,
You said; "Still watching for the other 5 VAMs that remain unknown in GSA."
Which 5 78-CC VAMs are unknown in GSA holders?
