Cool as hell that you found yet another ground down and acid treated reverse that is earlier in a progression than a Rev of 78 marriage
often the crusher of hopes and dreams

1878 vam 163A ll/l 26*B2c (194) I-4 R-6
Obverse ll/l 26--Radial die crack from rim below 7 up to right side of 7 with displaced field break.
my comments-crack goes all the way to hair. Also shows part of an N clash, although Leroy disagrees. Shape, size, location are spot on.
1879s Vam 105 lll 2*55*C3a (doubled 18-9, Cap Top) (184) I-2 R-5
Obverse lll2 55--Doubled/tripled 18-9 with 1 tripled below upper crossbar, 8 tripled at lower left of upper loop and doubled bottom and top inside of lower loop plus slightly at left outsideof 9 both loops. Slightly doubled top edge of Phrygian cap. Die Marker-Fine Polishing lines back of Liberty head eye.
Reverse C3a-Slight touch up engraving on two wreath leaves above N in ONE. die Marker-Three die polishing lines at eagel's right leg.
My comments-N of UNUM doubled, top of cap doubled like vam 51.
!979s vam 1J comments-Has obverse of either vam 91, or VAM 1D, Has different reverse than vam 91. I have another 79s with same obverse that shows UST. No reverse clashing. Fresh new reverse die. reverse is VAM 91.

Re: New from leroy(07/20/2018)
why do I have to loging every time I reply to this even If I didn't log out?????
also,
1879s VAM 1J has an ovaloid clash in front of the bridge of the nose, between the second and third set of leaves, in the field. it is closest to the innermost leaf of the second group from the top. Can someone post my info to the appropriate pages?

Is there some reason these haven't been added to the VAM lists? Are there any plate and additional photos to be had? Just curious.....Andrewvamsterdam wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 7:23 pm1878 vam 163A ll/l 26*B2c (194) I-4 R-6

Why cant you do it ? We all learn by doing and this might be a good time to expand your horizons to include the mundane task of learning how to do it yourself. JMHO

Wow. Can't believe the 1879s VAM 1J got only an I-1 and R-5.
