General discussion board about VAMs, but no buy/sell offers

I am enclosing pictures of the coin. I have looked at the description and pictures of every 1888 P VAM on hte VAM World 2.0 site and ICG has as well and neither I nor ICG can determine which VAM this is. The pictures were taken with my Nikon camera to give the best resolution. This is not a pressing matter, but if someone is interested I would like to know what VAM this forum thinks it is. Many thanks. In the oft possibility of this being an undocumented VAM, please let me know what I need to do to get it documented. Many thanks.

I cannot say what VAM it is but I would use the attribution guides to narrow it down. You can start by "date position" (looks like a near slanted date) or by "double ears VAMs" or by "reverse" or by "clash" on the 1888 P listing page. Clashing is not always associated with a VAM #. If there is no letter transfer from the clash it usually is not listable. Good Luck!
I may not be the best, but I do not know anyone better.
Thank you for your suggestion. I agree that this is an effective way of narrowing the VAMs down. I did use this. Further, I actually looked at each and every 1888 VAM (all 48 of them) and did not find one that matched. Thanks for letting me know that just the reverse clashing is not enough to assign a new VAM. I much appreciate the feedback. In thnk that this closes this post.
