Picked this 1928-P , looks like VAM 1 . The black was sticky like tape . Being a 1928-P and looks
to be AU58 and hope for MS61 .. Can ANACS conservation help being better looks to this coin .
Take to me you the hitters out their.

Well, if you can ID the VAM, then it's authentic, so if you pulled this from a junk box, congrats! Acetone should remove the goo, and that's probably what a TPG would use on the coin.

John I used some acetone . The geu is gone and it is not sticky an more but it has the same black spots .
I guess I have to live with those spots . Some dealer have to open their eyes wide .I was surprised finding
this 1928-P in the pick box . Just ask how mean coin are you buying . I would like this coin to look much
better , the value could be 3 figures .

I'm pretty sure the dealer thought it was a 23. I've had 2 dealers both look at a 23 thinking it was a 28 when it clearly wasn't. This is just the reverse side of that. "Its a cruddy 23, throw it in the bucket." I'd bet money that's what happened.

First suck I have received in a long time ..
I do believe the dealer saw this as a 1923 , glue or tape had the 8 kind of hide .

Try some ammonia on a qtip over some of the black areas. Spin the qtip parallel to the coin surface and see if it pulls it off. And don’t forget to rinse it when you are done. And yeah, great cherrypick.
