1888 rim question

Post by Kcf9572 » Tue Sep 24, 2019 2:24 am

This 1888 rim in reverse seems odd. Wondering if it’s just worn or anything special. Thank you.

A full, cropped shot of the entire coin will give perspective and better help others see what you're seeing. I'm thinking what you might be seeing is just a slightly thicker rim edge due to a minor MAD.

Looks like just a heavily worn reverse die with the denticles mushed out a bit.

Might want to check the VAM 7 progression, betting you find a match with one of the stages
often the crusher of hopes and dreams
