When you're at shows, look at proofs. Hold them, scan them, get a feel for them. Once you look at enough of them your eye becomes trained and most proofs "pop" out at you from a distance. 1878 can be somewhat of an exception tho, Zerbe's too to some degree.

I would say it’s safe to say that the date placement isn’t a definitive factor. Here are two pcgs graded proofs where the date is farther right. With two Denticles in between. [i

This one is further left. Seems the dates aren’t just in one place.

I'm going to flip this. What makes you think the coin is question might be a proof?

Flip this? I am not sure what you mean by that but no need to try and show how high your intelligence level is. I never said I thought it was a proof. Just a open ended question. All I did was correct a statement about date placement. Seems as if dates are shifted from different 1896 proof Morgan’s. Unless PCGS is wrong.

Looks like a couple of wreath leaves above N of ONE of rev been overpolished, just another indication for not a proof coin.

The rims seem to really stand out for some reason to me. Again, not saying it is a proof.

Didn’t offend me at all. Just didn’t want to hear how I am wrong about something that I wasn’t claiming.

Dude. Simmer down. He was just trying to open a separate line of dialogue meant to assess your knowledge base so he can respond more specifically to your knowledge level and start you down a path of critical thinking.. and you crapped all over it and got defensive like he was attacking you. You won't make any friends here with that kind of response to something so innocent. This isn't an attack type forum, for the most part, aside the occasional family sqabble. How about a reset?

Here are more pictures of said coin. After sharing them with a member on here that was adamant it couldn’t be a proof I realized it possibly is after there wasn’t any response after my pictures. After researching vamworld’s reference to the 1896 proof Morgan I believe I have located each marker. This coin also has the fin rim “wire edges” that Morgan’s possess. There are 3 dies for this proof Morgan. I believe it is Die number 2.

More pics of reverse and fin rim.
This coin obviously spent some time in vinyl because it has a serious coat of pvc on it.

I was a hard no, but now I want to see more....
