Gotta be worth an acetone or sudsy ammonia soak for a better look.

I was a hard no, but now I want to see more....
I must say that I'm in agreement. This thread has become slightly more interesting in a TBD sorta way..

ammonia will take off the PVC, reduce the toning and make the fields and luster pop.

Never heard of ammonia soak. Acetone hasn’t done much but the markers are clear. Especially the globs on the 6 and the fin rim.

Would you mind sharing the sudsy ammonia soak? Never used ammonia. Frankly makes me nervous as hell thinking about it. Haha

One of the brand names is Parson's. Use it just like dip. Maybe 10-15 seconds then rinse with hot water thoroughly and pat dry

No need to be nervous. Just use the same method you would use for ezEst dip as vampicker suggests. The only real difference in procedure is the overpowering ammonia smell so best to do it in a highly ventilated area or while wearing a contractor's fume mask.

You can always go with half and half first then go with the straight stuff if it doesn't work

And "Sudsy Ammonia" refers to a brand line of ammonia that has a dish soap type additive in it. I can't find it for sale anywhere. Maybe it's an old now-defunct Parsons product line, this is what I use. Bought on Amazon. You can add a few drops of dish soap to it to make it "sudsy" but I've never understood the need to do so.

Actually, that's exactly what I've been using. When I have something that would benefit from detergent ( picture oily gunk) I use a little Simple Green

It's worth mentioning I wouldn't mix anything other than water into an ammonia based product. The off chance of poison gas is a huge downside.

Parson's Sudsy Ammonia was unavailable for a while due to formula licensing, but its current manufacturer now distributes it through TrueValue hardware stores. An alternative is to mix your own using water, plain old ammonia, and a tiny bit of liquid dish soap. Yeah, you can order it on Amazon, but it costs more and you don't get to go to a hardware store.

Aforementioned safety guidance regarding ammonia-based stuff applies, and keep it away from granite countertops.

All the forums are all the same. People are very quick to say NOPE and then demand you provide more. It’s always the same when you prove people wrong. Seems as if all the feet are inserted into mouths. Because there are never anymore responses after you prove people wrong. Classic people. Makes me laugh. I love being right.

This is a small pond that you keep wanting to piss in. Just the last two pics you posted tell two different stories. One looks like you might be right and that really is a proof that you managed to cherrypick, while the other looks screwed with.
Maybe you'd be better served by waiting for the results from its trip to PCGS

If you're getting the same off-putting reaction everywhere you go, then there's one and only one common denominator.

Let's just recap real quick
...you posted " proof or Not"
.....I said no based on the 2 crappy photos
And the date placement.

....then you posted nice pics of other proofs
From Heritage archive and said yours matches.

....you followed up with more crappy pics
Of your coin. I still was not convinced.

So why would you NOT submit a coin you
KNOW is a proof to one of the big 3?

When you do that please let us know
And I will certainly be congratulating you
On a nice find.

Until then all you have proven is you own a
96 P morgan dollar.

Do you realize that you are in the same group of "Classic people. Makes me laugh"? You went silent as soon as I pointed out that your 1921-P D1 reverse Proof (different post) was really a D2 reverse. I offered to help you attribute your coin. I even offered to outright tell you what VAM you had. But you just went the way you put others down; "Seems as if all the feet are inserted into mouths".

You are welcome here. It would just be good, if you would play nice and show a little respect. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here that could help you if you would just listen.
Good luck

Good luck on your submission to PCGS. Please do come back and let us know the result. After all, you don't want us to be the one who will have the last laugh, right?
