FUN WITH 21

Post by bhinkle » Sat Aug 31, 2019 11:19 am

I saw and bought this 1921, only because I wanted the older slab.
When I got it in hand, I was very surprised to see the die cracks
and displaced fields, for I think an R-7 vam 19A, an EDS of the
full cud R-8 VAM-19B.
Not a high grade, but a nice looking coin.
Enjoy, Bert

Nice pickup, even if in a 3rd world holder.

Interesting how you picked up a 1921 Vam 19A by accident! One of my favorite die breaks. Somehow
you managed to bypass the traditional "Buy the coin, not the holder." Congrats :D

Nice coin and plastic.

Thank you everybody.
Come on, I love collecting those odd or older holders and I thought the coin looked real good too.
I couldn't pass it up and the price was low and I took a chance and I lucked out on the vam.
Long story short, I'm happy finding a nice vam, any way I can and just glad, that I spotted the VERY COOL die cracks, after I got it in hand, thanks to all of the information, that I have learned here, on VamWorld.

Here is an example.
I saw this 'nice looking' 1924 Peace dollar, in an 'undamaged' old green label, thick NGC slab and saw no vams, but for forty two dollars delivered, I couldn't pass it up. Bert
