21-D VAM 1W2 Monster Filled Die

Post by messydesk » Sat Jun 08, 2019 2:11 am

Back in 2004, I had a really cool 1921-D with a filled die cross my desk. Years later, when VAMWorld was started, I added a comment to the VAM 1W page about its existence. 15 years after taking the pictures, I finally uploaded them to the VAM 1W2 page. This was pre-DSLR. I was probably using a 4MP Canon A80.

No tethering with the A80. You had to do everything on the 1.5" screen and physically move the card to a reader. The slow USB 1.0 connection meant a 2MB image file would take about 13 seconds to transfer, so it was pretty much useless. Still more convenient than film, though, which I was using barely year earlier.

Year ago I bought a Minolta with automatic focus but still film. I thought it was the last camera I would ever buy. Then I remember when digital first came out and all the "film" guys and gals said they would never be as good as film. Things do change.
