97-S V15/15A & V16.2
Re: 97-S V15/15A & V16.2
I agree with Mitch. The date position pictures are already on the page. It appears they all share the same reverse. Vam 15/15A is a different obverse die than Vam 16.1 and 16.2. The Coxe pictures should be removed. I gave the plate photos from LVA to Mitch when I received them and asked him to add them. I have no idea where the Coxe photos came from but they sure confuse things in my opinion.

Okay, I give up. Without date placement photos of the V15/15A and V16.2 shown side-by-side, this will never get resolved. I tried.

I had a chance to have a good think about this issue......1st both the V15 and V16 were sent to LVA together and his comments are clear, they have same reverse die and different obverse dies. The V15 has dbl'd profile, dbl'd 8 and does not have the thread like die impression. It does have the diagonal die scratches in ear, (are they the same as the V16, maybe, could LVA have labeled pic as V16 by mistake and should be V15, don't know?)as far as the date position, I believe the V15 is positioned a little more right than that of V16. The date position is really irrelevant (IMO) as the V15 has a dbl'd 8 and V16 does not. I'm going to trust LVA that V15 and V16 have different obverse dies...this is why I (Mitch and I) sent LVA both coins to determine the difference. From my perspective there is no duplicate listing.......LateDateMorganGuy wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 7:25 pmWell, I will leave it up to you and Brian to figure out what to do. Seems like both coins should go together to Sidney and let Leroy figure out what to do.
Thanks to both Jody and Brian for chiming in on this!!!

Who is John Galt?

Hey Jody and Brian
If you guys like you can send me the DC coins and I will photograph the keys so we can clean up the pages.

Remember in the beginning Late Date was asking about a duplicate listing of V15/V15A and V16-2. Not Mitch`s V16. We have 3 different obverses, and all share the same reverse. No duplicate listing. Leroy is correct.jrfaust wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 2:27 pmLateDateMorganGuy wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 3:59 amOkay, I give up. As I said, I am done. Apparently it is case closed, for now. Leroy is always correct
