PCGS 1878s VAM-72 Crossed to VAM-57 Holder
Somebody asked to see photos of this coin in the old VAMWORLD. I think I picked this VF20 VAM-72 (crossed to a VAM-57 holder) up from ebay in 2012, which is the same time Heritage Auctions managed to sell a 1878s VAM-72 similarly crossed to a VAM-57 holder, and similarly graded VF20 PCGS (June 3 2012, sold for $4887.50), Sorry to take so long in getting photos posted for you.

No I did not pay VAM-72 prices on the coin. I firmly believe that God saw me paying huge money for details coins and felt sorry for me, and so He made this coin available to me in an attempt to help make up my tremendous losses. Now I am trying to put together a VF-20 set and am in need of a VAM-60 in VF-20, you might consider praying for me.

Re: PCGS 1878s VAM-72 Crossed to VAM-57 Holder
many unsuspecting vammers got caught in the wrong attrib trap and cost em dearly
financially not to mention mentally pissed off. Hopefully those huge attrib mistakes are much less
an occurence than when vams were on fire & huge mistakes made
We all made our mistakes so just keeping on will soon bring those messes into positive light
as we pick and own more great vams at for real prices. Carry on the great work

I don't quite follow your story. have read it several times but it's not quite making sense. are you saying that bought a v72, misattributed as a vam 57? and that you saw a vam 57 in a vam 72 holder sell for $4880?

Yes, the story went that I am an inastute buyer who paid through the nose for details SFLN's, but somehow had the sense to buy a few properly graded coins. God Almighty (Jesus) looked down from heaven and saw the money I wasted, had compassion and steered me towards picking up this rare VAM-72 coin that was misattributed as a common VAM-57. It is odd that at about the same time, Heritage Auction sold a similarly misattributed PCGS VAM-72 that was in a similar VAM-57 holder, and was similarly graded VF-20. The astute buyer of that coin paid Heritage Auctions $4887.50 US, which is about what I wasted on details SFLN's. Incredible story, couldn't make it up if I tried.

Finally (after 8 years) found the missing piece of the puzzle, the coin is coming to me out of the state of Georgia.

Is this truly a vam 60, or another in a series of misattributed long knocks? I sent a v60 that was nicer than this one, and called it v57, g4, and my v62 they called v60 ag3. I sent rhem back more than 2 months ago and they are just sitting there. No movement.
