High grade for one of those. They're usually VF.

And you can see it the first Sunday show in brook park, the pan show, Baltimore, or here at central states. Maybe some could look at it and help me figure out why my pictures aren’t posting.

Ant, there is no E on that one. I don't know what VAM it is, but I see them all the time and then I forget about them... nothing to see here. I can, however, tell you that is CERTAINLY not anything close to a 39a.

It's either a 50A or a 39A. I don't want you to think I'm going into this dead set on it being a 39A

We shall have to wait and see

Ant, go LOOK at the 39a page, then look at your coin, then tell me what you DON'T see on yours...
Here's a little hint: The E clash played only a small part in why I included that VAM in the WOW! set...

Re: Nice Late Die State `1880 Knob"
What the die break? I didn't think the 39 had the break. LVA's notes say it came later and the picture shows the break from a 39A.impairedsquirrel wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2019 1:09 amAnt, go LOOK at the 39a page, then look at your coin, then tell me what you DON'T see on yours...

Has a VAM39 unclashed been seen with the die break? It says a Die Study was done on the set, so I'm kinda curious now. What came first, the clash or the break?
Edit: or is VAM50A the unbroken die post clash VAM39 but pre-break VAM39A? Nah nevermind on this idea. Date on VAM50 is fairly obvious. I'm sure that would have been noticed. Still. Quit crushing my dreams...

At least at worst I'll have a shot at that phantom E from the 50A...

Just a minor detail, but very much needed on a 39a.

Re: Nice Late Die State `1880 Knob"
Well, first off, the break isn't a break in my mind, it's a gouge and it is on all VAM-1a's (like the ones Russ and John posted here) then the VAM-39 obverse was paired with it, THEN the 39a clash occurred.
This is going to sound very derogatory, but I hope you can see it as constructive. You need to stop trying to cross the finish line and take more time to learn the course you're running.
