VAM of the Year???

Can someone tell me the Official 2018 VOTY?
I have not heard or seen any official posting about this.
But birdies that I have heard have not been consistent.
Who makes the official call for VOTY, and how is it usually announced?

This brings me back to a question I had at the start of 2018. Does anyone have a complete list of all VOTY, and if so may we place the list here on VW for all to see at any time? That would be a fun group to chase.

Never heard of VOTY but im on outside looking in. LOL
I am not a set chaser but amassing a set of VOTY would be challenging and we should
have a published list. Sounds like a great/fun undertaking to me. Lets see if membership here agrees.
So i vote that if we dont have a list we get one- Maybe JR/JB or ???? would be gracious enough to
see we have one

There is a list. I'm not sure off the top of my head where to find it, though. I could probably go through past VAM Thing Proceedings (memo to self: write this year's) and put one together.

Then again, I have no idea what a VAM-104 looks like.
Because last I checked, there were no photos on the page for the VOTY.

I know the FIRST VOTY was an 88-S “rediscovery” of sorts...

What year was the first VOTY?
So it's an 1888-S, but what VAM? Could it be the VAM-13?

Yup, VAM-13. I think it was 2006, but my memory...
Someone that was around back then can probably fill in the "rediscovery" part, I'm not even sure if it went that way or how it went.

The 1888-s VAM 13 was the VAM 1A until it was "rediscovered" and made the VAM OF the year. I have no idea what year it was...

So I will try to compile a list here if no one has an official list.

2016 1892-CC VAM-2A
2017 1884-S VAM-11A (I think)

That's all I can come up with.

There was a SSDC Vam E Volume 9 issue 9 dated 5/24/12 states 2011 Vam of the year was 1878-s Vam 111.

I may be calling these incorrectly, but the way I'm seeing it the 78-S v111 would be the missing winner for 2012. I'm counting all of these for the year the award was given (so v111's Sept. 2011 discovery was the winner at the 2012 VAMthing...)
