Thank you so much, John! It does look much better now, the way the photos are grouped.

Re: Back from LVA - three 1883P kills! (one inadvertent)
Glad that is all cleared up!
According to my conversation with Leroy, the old v18a discovery piece becomes the new v7a discovery piece and the old vam 7a discovery piece becomes just another vam 7a. So, whoever has them should take note.

You already mentioned that, Brian. If only you had shown the same sense of zeal and urgency toward maintaining the accuracy of the listings as you now do toward maintaining your newfound status as the "VAM 7A discoverer," perhaps this matter could have been resolved some time ago.vamsterdam wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 11:39 pmAccording to my conversation with Leroy, the old v18a discovery piece becomes the new v7a discovery piece and the old vam 7a discovery piece becomes just another vam 7a. Re: Back from LVA - three 1883P kills! (one inadvertent)
I contacted the owner of the v18a discovery as soon as I heard about the controversy. It was last year. I asked him to send it to Leroy. I also called Leroy, who told me the v18a discovery piece would remain as the discovery piece but would become the v7a discovery piece. I then let the owner of the coin know what Leroy said. I tried to give him some assurance that he would not lose discovery status on the coin, after all, he bought it as a discovery piece. I guess despite all the reassurances that no comments were aimed at me, it seems it wasn’t the whole truth

I think mine is an EDS .
It has no die cracks.

I don't know what constitutes a discovery coin for the VAM 49, but those marks do match the VAM 49, indeed.
I sort of think of VAM 49 in four stages:
Stage 1 - no cracks, often prooflike
Stage 2 - cracks formed (by date, from U to cap)
Stage 3 - single clash (weak, no transfer)
Stage 4 - stronger second clash (possible very weak transfer of n at neck - LVA has acknowledged it in the past, but not in this most recent submission. Perhaps the right coin might get a VAM 49A designation, but I don't want to pursue that any more)

Thanks for your work on this series Tom.

Which is what mine is, 66PL.
Dates match up. Slanted. Reshot tail scratch. Also Vamworld lists "Five nearly vertical die polishing lines left end Phrygian cap ribbon." Best shot I could get of them, also has a good vert. scratch from leaf as well as two diagonals in ear.
LVA may not have seen in a lesser coin.
