JR 2019 List

Post by vampicker » Mon Jan 14, 2019 11:05 pm

So I added this year's list to my annual list page. In case you missed it at FUN or didn't see a copy of the hand out in another thread, here's this year's selections
1879-S VAM 45B
1880-O VAM 4
1883-CC VAM 2
1883-O VAM 33A
1885-S VAM 8
1887 VAM 26A
1888-O VAM 1B3 Harrison Stage 8
1891 VAM 1A
1894-S VAM 9
1901-O VAM 45
1922 VAM 5A3
1923 VAM 1o

The set is now live in the SSDC Registry, and go figure, at least for now I have the top but far from complete set.
Good luck!

Better the second time. I really want to find an 83o v33A now. How neat is that if your theory pans out, and I'm in your corner on it. That's exactly what it looks like that caused it. Cant wait to hear Leroy's opinion.

I'm gonna wait for Leroy to finish this year's updates, but a version of it will already be published. It's the subject of my next About VAMs column which should be hitting print in next week's Coin World. I'll do an expanded version for Leroy when I send it to him and maybe adapt it with his response for an Errorscope article, unless he shoots the idea down.

I usually stay on the darkside where I belong, but that 33A is just too cool. Got lucky and found one!

Interesting theory! It certainly makes the 33A even cooler than it already is.

I've had 5 83-O VAM 33As cross my desk since 2010. One in 2018, one in 2017. Three have been late July-early August of three different years, so the (weird and wrong) conclusion one could come to is that these are easier to cherrypick in the summer.

I've been looking for it since about 1min after JR's specific 33A slide! (Ebay in the conference room) then hunted the FUN floor for an hour or so afterward and zilch so far so I concur with your theory

For as weird and wrong as the conclusion was, I have to agree too. I bought my 33A 64PL back in 2012... end of June

I find many things are easier to find after I put them on my list. I was at FUN talking about my presentation before I made it and showed the list to a couple of people. One of them reached into his case and pulled out an example of the 33A. It's crazy, say you're likely to buy something and some people will believe you. That coin is now the example in my registry set
