Master level challenge....Alan Wins...

Post by fogie » Wed Mar 29, 2023 8:56 pm

I had never noticed this particular pair of leaves before (on this VAM...) but it is pretty cool! Reengraved leaves. leave your guess as to what we are looking at and I will reveal in a few days....

If Alan answers with a 1902-O attribution, you can take that to the bank.

It just looked familiar. I won't swear I am right.

Does that mean keep looking ? Because all that has happened to me so far is I had to register with Heritage to look at their close up pictures , And I have plenty of bad habits with auction sites already  In all seriousness @fogie has not made this one as easy as the last one Mr. D did I mean like 5000 to one might take a second for the rest of us

I have not looked at one in probably a decade, but maybe 1878-S VAM-6 (the original double RIB).

Challenge accepted even if I don't consider myself a master. Not at this stuff... and, dang, not in my house, not at work and more now that I think of them...

Damn my week was going well, too, until now...

Won't stop me from trying but I'll need to do a little more hunting before showing my lack of mastry.

Alan is the MASTER of 1902-O!!! It is in fact the 1902-O VAM-10 as he said. Good Job! Here I am thinking the San Francisco mint was the only ones doing the reengraving of these leaves.
