1927-S VAM 5

Post by colwillys » Wed Aug 17, 2022 9:57 pm

This is a buy not a pick . This is a super strike thur and tripling in tara . When i saw the coin
i thought VAM 1J in hand i see doubled leaves on REV . 1927-S MS 61 ANACS no attribution .
By number it looks like holder in 2016 , holder has spider cracks . i think new holder, regrade
and conservation to remove brown spots . OH this maybe 1927-S VAM 5 . Also could be a
new or revision . :D

JR should i break it out or have ANACS or JR do the deed .

VAM 1J, w/ die gouge in initial but no DDR is the early die state of that obverse die. It was later paired with a DDR, listed as VAM 3. The obverse was later changed, that being the VAM 5 - DDR but normal obverse.
Keep looking, there are good coins out there, and new discoveries waiting to be found.
