Selling options
What selling venue do you prefer and why? Which one do you think is the best value and gets the most money in your pocket?
Re: Selling options
Personally for me, Heritage wins by huge margin, with 45 day wait
for your money a real negative. Just think of them like a bank that
collects intereston your money & gives you O.
Flea Bay is a buyers venue nowadays as the top buyers quit yrs ago
due to fraud and un acceptable rules. Paypal fees help make the
selling experience even worse.
I cant imagine paying taxes on purchases, as i live in oregon, no tax,
which truly is an unfair advantage, especially if spending lots of $$.
IMHO= The whole coin setup is designed to screw the collector/investor/
hobbyist etc. To many ways to take your money !!

Re: Selling options
My favorite auction site today is Davissons Ltd. Davecoin.com
Not a big VAM seller but there are some. Maybe with more consigners that could change. He charges no VIG and no tax. I am speaking as a buyer. Not sure what his deal is with sellers.

Re: Selling options
My favorite is this Buy Sell Trade Board right here. Free to list. No taxes. Can negotiate sometimes. No fee to sell, though I try to send something into VAMworld when I do sell here.
I may not be the best, but I do not know anyone better.
Re: Selling options
Selling any where that pesonalities get involved sucks, for good or bad.
Selling here has been useless for me as i have contrarian opinions that
hurt any sales. Who cares as to many cheap scapes on VW LOL
Their are a few players here with experience and money to buy but
very few. Staying with the most reputable auction houses is my preference

Re: Selling options
From what I've seen, something on this board only sells if it's priced too low.
Any thoughts on great collections? Or other auction houses besides heritage?

Re: Selling options
Heritage for big $ stuff, Great Collections for everything else.
When in doubt... don't.
Re: Selling options
Last several times I've bought off the board it was at full asking. But it was bigger things and not common vams. I agree with Dennis, bigger stuff to heritage and the rest great collections.
Re: Selling options
Oh yeah, that's definitely the way to go! Some of my biggest scores have been full asking price
As a former Director of Numismatics for Heritage, I definitely get that HA is the best bet for money coins. Never really dealt with Great Collections, are they flexible on fee structures? What's the standard fee structure like?
