1901 VAM-16 AU58, HOT 50 PCGS Top Pop!

Post by ChrisPaulis » Sat Aug 19, 2023 2:35 am

I cherry-picked this coin raw several years ago, identified the VAM, and sent it to PCGS. When it came back, it was the ONLY VAM-16 graded above AU55, and there was only one at AU55. Now there is another at AU58. It’s a very dramatic doubled-ear variety. CDN offers no values on this, but PCGS values the coin at 3250.
Asking $3000 shipped.
I take VENMO, ZELLE, and PPFF.

I contacted CDN an asked them to add this coin to their listings. They did, but said that they didn’t know how to price it, since they have no comparable auction results. They placed it very conservatively, but may raise their figures after considering the rarity of the grade. I am revising my BIN price to 1600, and I think that is very low.
