Hi friends,
Just listed this super cool looking VAM on eBay; first one I have ever seen. Check it out, and if you are interested, see all the other pictures on eBay, then bid, bid, bid! Here is the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/374685508079 Thanks--Rick DeSanctis, NumismaticClassics in Fort Myers, FL

On a different but related note, just curious, Rick, if the price listed for the 1890-O VAM-1B PCGS/CAC AU55 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/370601532534?h ... SwU0VeE2XF) is seriously $499.99?

I own the 1B DC that is an ANACS AU58 grade and I can tell you that bought it at about 1/5 to 1/4th the price you have listed for yours - values much more in line with the SSDC listed value of less than $70 in AU55 condition.

Do you think it really worth nearly $500 and does anyone else have any indication that it is, indeed, that valuable?

Thanks,

Wow! That's one of our really old listings I've lost track of; no wonder it hasn't sold! At the time of listing I'm sure it was in the ballpark, since looking back at the 2015 VAMview price guide it was $500 in AU and $1000 in MS-60. I'll have to reduce the price or maybe just add "best offer" to the listing. On the plus side, it is a nice PCGS graded example, and possibly the only one with a CAC sticker... Thanks, Rick.

real problem trying to liquidate vams that carry a premium nowadays. If no reserves some great
coins worth a bunch more slip through cracks, leaving the poor seller screwed. Liquidity is terrible

Heritage tells me they dont allow reserves on vams ?? Im scared to death to open end otherwise decent
money coins, just to be reped upon a lousy sale/sales. What do the selling members here do?

@morganman Boy that sounds like a big, scary problem too me. I wonder what HA has for a no reserve for VAMs policy?🐍
