I could never find one in the wild either, so I traded my 78-S VAM 17C MS64 PL for a 81-S VAM 54B MS61 PL from a VAM buddy awhile back. Thought it was a fair trade and I liked the VAM 54B better. I don't have to search that VAM any more.

Curious - you selling one or looking to get one?
I've been looking for one - had one almost in the bag but someone out bid me recently at the last moment.

I've found three. The first two were raw (one for $50, one for $30) and both ended up MS63s. The third was listed on eBay as "MS65 1881 Morgan dollar", but the holder clearly said 1881-S... not sure why I even took a closer look, but that one cost me $150...
FTR, I've sold an MS63 for $500 and the MS65 for $1000 and both went REALLY quickly.
Of course, the covergirl on the WOW! guide still resides in my set. That was the first I found and even it has a story. It was lost in the mail for multiple months and it finally showed up ONE DAY after I got a refund from the seller... I, naturally, more than happily sent him back his money.
If memory serves, the breast break starts out being paired with a different obverse and I found one of them once, but our old buddy Chuck ended up buying that one when I passed the listing on.
