To All
So I was wondering if anyone had a prediction on the 1878 VAM 14.11 in MS65 on Heritage .
What the final bid price will be . Just interested in what the predictions will be .
I Say 22.5K and lets say thats the final price with Heritage markup included .
Just wanted to ask the Crew here on what they think .
Thanks
John

Discussing active auction items is prohibited, period, except on the BST board by the seller/consignor promoting their item.
When in doubt... don't.

I moved it from the discussion board to this one, where coins currently for sale are offered and discussed.

You are right
If it’s a 14.11 it should bring at least 20
Now if it’s 14.11A $30k +

I'm predicting over $30K all-in no matter which one it is. (How many people in the world care about the 11 vs. 11A distinction and are financially equipped to pursue one in MS-anything?)
This MS65 is tied for the second finest one known, with an NGC-65.
It's the second finest one at PCGS, behind a mind-boggling MS67.
It's attributed on the holder and ready to go into a Registry set.
The current all-time high price I'm aware of is $23,500 for an NGC-64 sold at Heritage in February 2016.
When in doubt... don't.

As I remember Dr. Michael Fey had a 14.11 in a GSA soft pack many years ago.
Wonder what happened to that one?

I bought the ms 64 nice at heritage.
It is now in ms 64 pcgs C&C holder.
I would go after the ms 65 but do not like shaded areas on coin.
Still nice rare coin.

Andy,
Is the 14.11 still in the GSA soft pack?

A PCGS-64 sold today on eBay for $25,000.
Correction: $25K was the listed price. The price accepted was $20,000.

Vam Collectors are realizing
Rare is rare
And they are willing to pay the price today
Only to rip the rewards tomorrow
As there may not be another especimen available
For a while

I was the underbidder on the MS65. Never expected to even come close. I didn't have the funds to chase unfortunately.

Mark
Yep I didnt want to dent the pocket book that hard , so I watched and
did really think about it . Didnt want to mess with my cash buffer ,
So I hear you and Yep someone got a very nice deal on a Great Coin .
But Yes extremely tempting , but you know if you bid higher someone
else would have bid higher . LOL , The nature of the Auction I guess .
But all in all very interesting auction , was this just a Blip on price ?
I will be very interested in what others think about why it only went to 20.4 K
with the Heritage fee included . Its Education for me to hear and listen to the reasons .
Thanks
John
