Re: Big Heritage VAM Auction 10/15
I did not look at Morgan prices, but the Peace dollars soared!!
Re: Big Heritage VAM Auction 10/15
I thought the 1887 Vam 1B would go for more, think it was 340 before buyer premium. I won the 1891 O Vam 3a2

I got one, too. Some strong prices overall, some that I wish I'd submitted a higher bid on. While watching the action, I can imagine that the consignors were doing so with a glass of their favorite adult beverage in their hand (and perhaps refills nearby).

I won one of the 79-O VAM 28's. Never thought I could afford one of these. Not too long ago this VAM was double the price for what I paid for it.
I may not be the best, but I do not know anyone better.
Re: Big Heritage VAM Auction 10/15
Picked up a couple but was stuck in traffic for the 8tf coins I wanted.

Nothing here

Re: Big Heritage VAM Auction 10/15
I had my eye on the 21-D 1U. Wasn't meant to be. Congrats if anyone here acquired.
Re: Big Heritage VAM Auction 10/15
I bid on six of the VAMs and didn't get any.
Should have bid more on a couple of them.

My thanks to everyone who bid in the auction, as more than half of the Morgans in it were my consignments.
When in doubt... don't.
Re: Big Heritage VAM Auction 10/15
Congrats Dennis - Did Heritage cut you some slack (%) for the large number of coins you sent to the auction?
Re: Big Heritage VAM Auction 10/15
That was the most impressive VAM auction I have ever seen. Some of the prices were literally insane. 1902 double ear AU58 for $780? WOW. It seems I have been severely undervaluing many of my varieties.
I was able to pick up 6 coins but bid on dozens. Was really bummed I didn't get any of the 8TF coins I wanted. I did get the 14.13 but after I bid I realized I already had an VF35.. DOH!!
The 1888-o VAM-15 environmental damage is the one I'm most happy about. $67 bucks! I also got the 89-o VAM-20A well under market it seems.
Congrats to all involved!

I've been a 0% seller's fee consignor for many years, but that's the only deal I got with this auction. I suspect it's all about dollars of value, not number of coins, to get part of the 20% buyer's fee... and I'm pretty sure I was just small potatoes.
When in doubt... don't.

Tom, now U know who discovery pieces were up for sale. I am like U Lewis, I didn't win a thing. I felt that the auction was somewhat like Ebay. People shill bidding! As far as the Peace dollar pricing. I didn't see any difference in the pricing expect a few coins. We will wait for another one.
Re: Big Heritage VAM Auction 10/15
I was your under bidder, I started bidding around $100, I already had an au50, but thought it was very cheap. I would have gone more if I didn't have one already. Congrats on a good buy.
