Re: Ebuyer Beware!
True. But eBay policy says that any coin NOT of U.S. Mint origin be stamped 'COPY'. Auction is in violation.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my.........Ahh........Uhmm........something, something, something.....

Re: Ebuyer Beware!
And a violation of the Hobby Protection Act of 1973.
“An imitation numismatic item which is manufactured in the United States, or imported into the United States for introduction into or distribution in commerce, shall be plainly and permanently marked “COPY”.”
I suppose seller could claim at the time of listing the coin is not in the US, therefore no violation.
Re: Ebuyer Beware!
Items that appear to be U. S. Mint and U. S. BEP products that are not genuine violate eBay listing policies. Fakes, including those that are stamped COPY, will be removed from eBay, even if they are listed from outside the United States.
There are exceptions... Contemporary counterfeit (and not modern counterfeit) Colonial, Bust, Seated, and Three Cent Silver coins that are sold as such, as they circulated within the United States, and they are collected within the numismatic community. The exception to the exception are contemporary counterfeits that are being sold as genuine coins.

Re: Ebuyer Beware!
Way too many Chinese fakes are out there. The fakes are getting better and will fool novice collectors. Fake slabs are further complicating matters for new collectors. Ebay needs to remove these listings but for every one removed, there are many more that slip by.
I swear, someday I will learn how to grade Peace Dollars!

Re: Ebuyer Beware!
I don't know the Lincoln cent series well enough to know what markers to look for, but to my untrained eye these look real. Maybe they are stolen pictures or maybe he has a small hoard of real coins or the Chinese are getting better and better. I saw a clashed Peace Dollar that looked legit but in one of the pictures, the coin was in a bag that said "MADE IN CHINA." It was a clashed coin with a double spike and the hair clash in the Ray's by the olive branch. Wish I saved the link... but it was scary good.

And here is the link for where he hijacked the image for the 55/55 he has listed.

This is the coin I mentioned above. 1926 S Peace Dollar. The coin looks real and is clashed, but one of the photos shows the coin in a plastic bag marked "MADE IN CHINA".

Re: Ebuyer Beware!
He has lots of suspect coins for sale mixed in with the real thing:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/demomanpt91/m. ... pg=&_from=
Some of the dates are odd looking. It's funny; some coins are in cardboard flips, some in TPG slabs and then some are in these small, square hard shell cases. Some he just has pics of the coins in the case, but others (including some Morgans with odd looking dates) are shown inside plastic bags with the series/date/mintmark printed on one side and "made in China" on the other.
