Re: Ebuyer Beware!
I am still not receiving email notifications that new posts are being made to the eBuyer Beware thread. I have tried everything that I can do, including changing my profile email address. I am trying to elevate this issue to someone with access to the code. Either my profile account is corrupted or the platform that VAMWORLD 2.0 is built on has bugs... David

Re: Ebuyer Beware!
I have called ebay about several of these listings, they don't seem to care they just want to collect the fees for the sales. I have posted them here and they are not being removed. Every time these listings end with a sale it encourages other sellers to jump on the bandwagon. Seems like it is up to the buyer, "a fool and his money" , "there is a sucker born every minute" , "you just can't fix stupid" & "caveat emptor".
There was a counterfeit 1916 D dime that ended a few days ago, it sold for over $2,000. If someone has 2K to drop on a dime they know nothing about maybe it's better they learn the hard way.

Re: Ebuyer Beware!
I subscribed to this topic yesterday. Then I made replies to this same topic. There was no email notification. Today, however, I received personal email notification that this reply by ifthevamzarockin was posted. My personal email lists John B. as the sender. In addition, I received notification of the posting via the phpBB notification bell in the header.I'm looking into this. Anyone else with these kinds of problems let me know.
It may be that you do not receive notification of a reply to a subscribed topic if you made the reply. Further, the graphic for subscribing is confusing. If you are not subscribed there is a checked checkbox for "subscribe." It appears that you have already subscribed when you have not. Despite that subscribe is checked, you have to click the link. Then the checkbox changes to a checked "unsubscribe." A verification popup states you are now subscribed. A little clumsy.
Re: Ebuyer Beware!
I have emailed messydesk many times over the last few weeks as to why I am NOT receiving email notifications from the system that new posts are being made to eBuyer Beware. I have tried multiple things without success.
When I subscribe to eBuyer Beware, I received the following popup:
You have subscribed to be notified of new posts in this topic.
My User Control Panel / Manage Subscriptions states:
You are not subscribed to any forums.

Ebuyer Beware!
1. Is eBuyer Beware a topic or a forum?
2. Is a "topic" also a "forum"?
3. If it is not, how do I subscribe to a "forum"?
3. Is "subscribed" also "watched"?
No online help that I can find. The site is very confusing. I am frustrated. Is this the state of the art of the technology?

Re: Ebuyer Beware!
Ebuyer Beware! is a topic posted to the Buy, Sell, Trade forum.1. Is eBuyer Beware a topic or a forum?
No. A topic (of discussion) is a post/thread within a forum.2. Is a "topic" also a "forum"?
Oddly, rather than by a tool icon menu, there is a "Subscribe to forum" text link in the footer. This text link is only visible from the forum url and not from a topic url.3. If it is not, how do I subscribe to a "forum"?
As near as I can tell "subscribed" and "watched" are equivalent in this case.3. Is "subscribed" also "watched"?
FAQ. phpBB is an open source effort. Open source software is often better than commercial software from the standpoint of elegant and secure code. However, there has always been a schism between developers and users. Developers want elegance in the code. Users want friendly in the interface. Developers want users to to be elegant. Users want developers to be friendly. Developers who code interfaces need to be multiple personality schizophrenics. The price is right. No online help that I can find. The site is very confusing. I am frustrated. Is this the state of the art of the technology?
There appears to be a 3 post requirement before some features are enabled for a particular user. Verify that you have made three posts to this forum. Also, be sure that there is not a typographical error in your email address. Further, there may be something entirely out of either your control, or the administrator's immediate control. Your ISP may be incorrectly blacklisting the email notification as malicious based on non-matching reverse dns. If you created a bookmark using the varslab domain, delete the bookmark and use the literal url. Also, check your "junk" folder. I imagine you have.why I am NOT receiving email notifications from the system that new posts are being made to eBuyer Beware.
