Perform Due Diligence when Valuing Vams/before Purchases Do Homework

Post by morganman » Thu Aug 11, 2022 9:42 pm

Hope were finding near to bottoms on vam values, which would be great for members
still acquiring Vams. I bring this up as amazing price variations have occured the last
several yrs, and to make matters worse we had no decent price guides/comparables
to really go by.

Now SSDC via ASH HARRISON has come forth with a digtized guide within SSDC website
Many great vams have taken a total price beating, which makes buying a tough job
to say the least. Just a couple examples= 1878 7/8 tf vam 43 in 64 dmpl top pop ?
Last vamview 2015 showed $4500 value- NOW SSDC= $1450 and Numismedia a while
back was like $1600 withot Vam.

1878 S vam 50 Lava Wing = A great Lava Wing has taken a real beating as well as many
more. Just a shout out to really do your homework before buying & spending hard earned
money, which will make you a more astuit collector/investor/hoarder LOL.

Most VAMs aren't rare, thus the premiums aren't valid. Top graded coins will always attract a market. MS64DMPL VAM-43 happens to be fairly common and if not in a PCGS holder no one will pay a premium.
