Today is the day ! The live bidding for this auction starts at 6:00 PM central time today. Be there, or miss out on the chance to scoop up some great VAMs to upgrade your collection. If you have never participated in a Heritage live session, the action is fast and furious. It typically takes 30 – 40 seconds from beginning to end for one coin, so if you are interested in getting a particular coin, don’t dink around or “poof” it’s gone.
As a reminder, here is the link for the 130 coins which I have in today’s auction. (Some other folks from VAMWORLD also have some nice ones on offer in this auction)
https://coins.ha.com/c/my/consignments. ... us=current
Over 30 of these are “TOP POPULATION” ! And several of those are either 1 of the 2 top pop or the ONLY one in the top pop grade. If you are working on any registry sets, you ought to take a close look at what’s on offer.
My coins include a nice selection of Clashed VAMS, including:
1878 8TF $1 Doubled Reverse, Clashed 'In' & 'st', VAM-2A, MS62 NGC. This is the first coin in the “Super CD” set
1878 8TF $1 Weak LIB, Clashed 'n', VAM-22A, MS63 PCGS This one is part of the Hot 50 set. It’s a pretty coin; I’ve thought about resubmitting to try for a MS64 in the past, but never got around to it
1878 7/8TF $1 7/5 Strong, Broken Star, VAM-39A, MS63 PCGS – This one is part of the Hit List 40 set. The dumb asses listed it as a 39, but it’s a 39A. Another “really nice for the grade” coin with lovely toning.
ANOTHER 1878 7/8TF $1 7/5 Strong, Broken Star VAM-39A, MS63 PCGS. A Hit List 40 Variety. They did list this one correctly
1878 7/8TF $1 Strong Clashed Obverse, VAM-42A, MS61 ANACS. A Super CD Variety.
1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1878, 7/4TF, Clashed 'n', VAM-41C, MS65 NGC, “The bearded lady”. A Super CD Variety. I’ve picked several of these over the years in lower grades. MS 65 is tough to find. MS 65 is “top pop” in the SSDC registry.
1878 7/8TF $1 Triple Blossoms, Clash, VAM-44A, AU55 PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. The King of VAMs AND the King of Clashed VAMs !
This coin is a very solid AU 55 and is visually appealing; unless you are willing to “pay up” big time for a BU coin (IF you can find one for sell), it is as good as you can get to fill this open slot in your collection. Current bid is $1550, which is quite a bit less than I paid for it. There are 14 of these listed in the SSDC registry IN TOTAL, ranging from MS 01 to MS 61. Get it while you can or live the rest of your days in regret

.
1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1878, Line Under 8, VAM-84A, MS65 PCGS. Heritage listed this as an VAM 84. It is an 84A, which means it has the clashed E on the reverse (much tougher to find than the plain ole VAM 84). Only 7 of these in MS65 in the SSDC registry, with only one coin having a higher grade.
1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1878, Gouge in IB, Clashed "n", VAM-131C2, MS63 PCGS. Interestingly, MS 63 is TOP POP for this variety in SSDC.
A second 1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1878, Gouge in IB, Clashed "n", VAM-131C2, ALSO MS63 PCGS. Buy them both, so they won’t get lonely.
1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1879, Short Leaf, Clashed "n", VAM-203A, AU50 PCGS. This is a Top 100 and Super CD variety. Current bid is $47. People, show a little respect! This VAM is a BITCH to find! If you have one in your Top 100 set, you are an exception, and good on ya mate.
1878-S $1 Denticle Clash, VAM-17A MS63 PCGS. This is a Hit List 40 and Super CD variety. I love the denticle clashes.
1880 $1 Checkmark, Clashed 'st', VAM-11A, MS64 PCGS. This is a Hot 50 and Super CD variety.
1880 $1 Doubled 1-80, Clashed "n" & "st", Reverse M, VAM-24A, XF45 ANACS. A Super CD Variety.
1880 $1 Doubled Date, Clashed "In," VAM-32A MS64 NGC. PCGS This is a Super CD variety
1880 $1 Partial E Reverse, VAM-39A, AU55 PCGS. This is a HOT 50 and a WOW variety
1880 $1 Doubled 1-80, Clashed "n" & "t", Doubled Wreath, VAM-57, XF45 ANACS. This is the Discovery Piece, which I bought from Brian Raines. (I paid a lot more than $46, which is the current bid

)
1880-CC $1 8 Over Low 7, Ear & Clash, VAM-6C, AU50 NGC. A Top 100 Variety.
1880-CC $1 Dash 8, Clashed 'n', VAM-3A, MS63 NGC. This coin is a Super CD Morgan Vam.
1882-O $1 Doubled Date, Clashed G & t, VAM-29A, AU53 PCGS This is a Super CD VAM
A 2nd 1882-O $1 Doubled Date, Clashed "G" & "t", VAM-29A, AU53 PCGS. Still a Super CD VAM
A 3rd 1882-O $1 Double Date, Clashed G & t, VAM-29A, AU55 PCGS. Super CD
A 4th 1882-O $1 Doubled Date, Clashed "G" & "t", VAM-29A, MS61 PCGS. Don’t let the fact that there are 4 of these in this auction fool you. I’ve been collecting CDs for over 30 years, and these 4 are the sum total of this RARE variety. (I traded for two of them, and picked the other 2 after looking at many thousands of 1882-O s. )
1882-O $1 Doubled 82, Clashed Obverse & Reverse, Reverse Die Break, VAM-38A, MS63 ANACS
1882-O $1 Doubled 82, Clashed "G" & "t", VAM-38B, AU53 PCGS.
1882-O/S $1 Flush & Clash, VAM-3A, XF45 PCGS. This bad girl is rare. There is a total of ZERO in any uncirculated grade.
1883-O $1 Clashed E Reverse, Clashed D & O Obverse, VAM-22A, MS62 PCGS. This is a Hot 50 and Super CD coin.
1883-O $1 Partial E on Reverse, VAM-22A, MS63 PCGS. This is a Hot 50 and Super CD coin. The 22A is significantly rarer than the 1883-O 36A, with which is is often confused.
1883-O $1 Partial E on Reverse, VAM-36A,MS64 NGC. Hot 50 and Super CD
1883-O $1 Partial E on Reverse, VAM-36A, MS65 PCGS. Hot 50 and Super CD
1884 $1 Partial E Reverse, VAM-2A, MS63 PCGS. A Hot 50 and Super CD Variety
A 2nd 1884 $1 Partial E Reverse, VAM-2A, MS64 PCGS. A Hot 50 and Super CD Variety.
A 3rd 1884 $1 Partial E Reverse, VAM-2A, MS65 PCGS. A Hot 50 and Super CD Variety. Again, don’t assume that because I have 3 of these, they aren’t scarce. 30 plus years, and I did a LOT of trading with other CD collectors over the years, so I accumulated good “trade bait”.
1885 $1 Dash 8, Clashed "In" & "st", VAM-4A, MS62 PCGS A Super CD variety
1885 $1 Doubled 85, Clashed 'n', VAM-5A, MS64 PCGS
1885 $1 Doubled 5, Clashed "n", "ust", & "e", VAM-23A, MS62 PCGS A Super CD coin
1886 $1 3+2 Clashed Reverse, VAM-1C, MS66 NGC. A Hot 50 Variety and Super CD coin. This one is actually a 3+3 Clash (the EDS of this VAM) , which is even more dramatic than the 3+2 class.
1886 $1 3+2 Clashed Reverse, VAM-1C, (also an EDS 3 + 3 clahs) MS64 Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS. A Hot 50 and Super CD Variety. There is a grand total of 1 in DMPL in the SSDC registry, this one!
1886-O $1 Clashed E Reverse, VAM-1A, XF45 ANACS. A Top 100 Variety
1886-O $1 Clashed E, VAM-1A, Top-100, AU53 PCGS
Some interesting “Detailed” coins which are probably going to go pretty cheap:

From the VAMWORLD description of this coin “Ask a collector or dealer what the rarest Carson City dollar is and you are likely to hear dates: 1879-CC, 1889-CC, 1893-CC. Talk with most VAM enthusiasts, and 1885-CC VAM 4 Hot-50 might come up and a few may bring up 1884-CC VAM 7A or 1890-CC VAM 9A. However, one of the best kept secrets is this coin, the 1878-CC VAM 7A, one of only four R-7 Carson City dollars. it is exceptionally rare.”

A nice selection of “Not Clashed” VAMs:
1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1878, Type One Obverse, Double Motto, VAM-100.2, MS63 NGC. This is a Top 100 variety. The 100.2 is significantly rarer than the 100.1.
