Judging from the local (Olathe, Ks) coin show I attended today, there is a lot of interest in coins, silver, and gold. Also leaning toward the scratch being on the coin, noting how it appears to lighten up where it goes off the chin.

Thanks for sharing the coins and back story. One of my keepsakes is an 1886 P Morgan from my parents. It remains in the old "picture frame" 2x2 with the $2 price written on the corner.

Looked back at my ANACS orders and found that I had a VAM 49 that went AU 53 back in 2015. It's still around in my stash of picks.....
