Large S upright and centered, set low

I think it is very interesting and as pointed out it shows very low mintage for some die pairs. Unfortunately nearly impossible to match to a particular VAM but it still means some are very scarce. Thanks for posting.

I see 2 @ MS62, 4 @ MS63 and 2 @ MS64 in the SSDC Census.

@alefzero Thanks for looking. VAM-25 has mark at top inside of 6 that is different, and die scratches in the ear. The reverse clash is about the same spot but not as strong.

Went to my favorite shop and made an unexpected find. Picked up four raw MS64s, one 1886-P that I have to post later, an 1886-P VAM-1E2, an 1884-O clash I’m still working on and an 1887-P with date/star doubling that has a nice die break above the rear letters. Looked at all the slabs but no clashes...

Did anybody pick the 1880-S VAM-11, PCGS MS62DMPL (A 60315 Lot 52315), or the VAM-9 NGC MS64DPL (A 60315 Lot 52316) from Heritage Auctions last night, 4/17/23? No VAM number was marked on either holder.
