Re: What's the difference between 1878 8tf V22B & C?
Following.. wondered where the 22C came from. I have a 22A in MS65 and MS60 and 22B but it's VG08 from my lowball set.

Re: Grades in..
Sounds like a few more years should do it for the 1921.
I cracked an ms 1880-s vam-11 and carried in my pocket for a while. Just wanted an xf/au.. Sent in for grading and they said it was cleaned.

Re: Last Acquisition for 2018
I grabbed a 1878 R79 VAM-200 PCGS MS62DMPL on eBay. Paid way too much for it but didn't own any DMPL 1878 r79's.

Re: Sorry This coin is Not getting Dipped
The coin looks AT to me. Not saying it is but does not look natural. I wouldn't dip, but would probably use MS70 or similar to see if it brightens the coin and removes some of the hazy toning.

Grades in..
So got in my 8 free grades from PCGS yesterday. Was really shocked to get them on Monday before the holiday. Screen Shot 2019-01-01 at 12.03.23 PM.png The first coin graded was a VAM-14.4. I got it super cheap on Greatcolletions for 205+BP ($230). I couldn't let it go for so cheap so grabbed it. Cra...

Re: Goals for 2019
1. Get to 90% of 1878p VAM's this year. Currently sitting at 80%. It's going to be quite a challenge.
2. Complete my T100 set. Either my low ball or regular. 7 coins needed.
A VAM-14.11 would take me a long way in both sets. Missed out on 2 this year.

Hiding in my set..
I've been plugging away at my 1878 p set for many years now. I took some time off from the search but recently retired most of my low ball sets to focus on this set. (Don't worry JG, still have my T100 lowball set right behind you) One of the holes in my 1878 registry set has been the 14.2 EDS. I've...

Re: 1881-O Update for June
And for the record.. I have what I think is a VAM-40.. but it doesn't have 1 of the breaks (below the chin) shown on your page but has all the rest. Definitely later state than VAM-1H.

Re: 1881-O Update for June
I have to admit this is frustrating. Why are there are different VAM's assigned to the same die paring. These share the same dies. They should be one VAM then EDS, MDS and LDS, or VAM-20A, 20B, 20C, etc., not completely different VAM numbers.
