Re: 1879S VAM 1h

all vam 1d's that i have seen have a strong vertical line line at the viewers right edge of the ribbon bow. Leroy confirmed mine as a vam 1d, and 2 other fo my vams has thew same reverse. i think it is 91 die 1 and 2.

1881o vam 1 L

I found my 1881o vam 1L “discovery piece”! I thought it was lost to the vam community. I guess i had more forethought than i gave myself credit for.

Re: Retained Cud? 1H2 or 1H3?

i had a very late di state 1h3. the movement of the broken section was so obvious. the entire piece was a strike or two from a cud. so, the displacement isn't there for a 1h3. there needs to be way more near the 1. still, a 1 h2 is a great coin.

Re: VAM it DAM it.

not vam 1i, 113, 17eds, not 10, 22, 65, 109, not acid wing, not long knock, and the pictures aren't clear enough for me to attribute it. doesn't appear to be any of the v78,

Mine has lots of polishing lines but it is not vam 1g/1d. Not the same reverse at all. Or obverse. I have vam 1d.

What is it, for all of those who don’t see a date, mintmark, or cert?

Re: Early Scarface Auction Price

There was a dealer in Indianapolis that had a pcgs62 h2 for some ridiculously high price and when i tried to share with him that is was actually worth a fraction to f what he was asking, he kicked me off and f his table and told me he knows quite a bit about vams, and implied that I didn’t.

Re: Pictures of 1879-S VAM-1D (1H)

That is CLEARLY. The vam 1D reverse, and NOT the reverse that my coin has(or the obverse). I can’t wait for this new setup to get under way. I have mutliple coins that were misdiagnosed.
