Re: Questions about SSCD "Buffed Reverses" registry

The Buffed Reverses Set is (to me) a fascinating category in the VAM collecting world.
Thanks Fogie for taking care of this.

Nasty bag mark on the mint mark. There are some 84-O VAMs with filled mint marks. VAM 5 is the first that comes to mind. Far date, filled mint mark, not much of anything else to look at.
I think the other VAM with filled mintmark is VAM 39.

Favorite Non-List VAM

Since there are probably more than 5000 different VAMs listed, and most do not ever become part of a major list set(Top 100, Hot 50, Hit List 40 etc....), I thought I would start a thread to see what is your favorite non-list VAM. There are many interesting VAMs that many probably do not know about,...

An EDS Scarface PCGS MS 63 sold yesterday on Ebay for $3000. Insane! Might have to sell mine. LOL

Re: Coin prices

Definitely a seller's market. I have sold off most of my duplicates with no problem but have yet in the last few months find anything of interest to me that is not priced higher than normal. It is a cycle that has been long over due though. Hope sellers can make some profits.

Re: Trying To Attribute 1881-S Morgan

It might help to post full obverse and reverse pics. It does have the same die chip in the first 8 as VAMs 9, 10, and 38.

Raw Knobby Pick

Picked this VAM 1A2 up for a little over double melt value. I have a VAM 1A1 so finally picking up a 1A2 for my collection is worth posting about. As a added bonus, it has the wreath bow break on reverse. Thinking AU 50-53?
Pretty sure it is a late die state for this VAM & maybe at terminal state. :D

Re: I need help with my 1883 O

VAM 1C2 is double clashed just like yours.
VAM 1C1 has single clash or none & comes in Prooflike or Dmpl.
VAM 1C3 is double clashed but has wing die break.

To find any VAM 1C in any mint state is a great find. Congrats!

Nice VAMS Patrick.

It's been a lonngg time since I've seen that exact 83-O VAM-22A. :) :D
I'm sad to sell it but found a higher grade. Also, the price of the VAM 22A has really dropped over the years. I do believe I am selling it at a loss. :(
