This is the story of most clashed Ms, so it seems. That part of the reverse field seems very prone to picking up bag marks.

I see what you mean, as the 't' looks like it's too close to the partial 's' to be part of the same clash. I still only see one 't', however, and nothing on the pictures of the subject coin that make it any different from what Leroy has already described.

I wouldn't send this to Leroy. His VAM 2A pictures clearly show a single clash with weak letter transfer, and specifies that it is faint. VAM 2 is one of the more common die pairs and later die stages would have this clashing starting to wear off. I think I can see the 't' clash in your photos, and ...

At 1:59-2:02, you can see what might account for some of the no-grades, in addition to wheel marks.

In general, the R-number should never be used to ascertain value. It is an estimate at the time a variety is first listed, and can sometimes be way off. The VAM 5A3 is a tough variety, though.

You have an early die stage of the VAM 1AT. Not as desirable as the one with the full break (not a gouge) on the O, which is pretty scarce.

Not sure what ECM is besides Electronic Countermeasures, but based on the full shot of the reverse, the coin you picture is a clashed 78 VAM 2. I can't see any letter transfer in your pictures, but if it's there, then it's VAM 2A.
