WTG Dennis, but why would you treat your heroes (Fogie)that way?!?!
Now he REALLY DOES have extra slots to fill in his quest!!

@fogie has told me that his greatest coin joy is filling empty slots, so won't having more slots to fill lead to greater happiness?

I'm just a Fogie wanna-be with DCs

Got my letter from J.B. today; 5 new 1921-P & Ds... one of which (VAM 131) is Fogie's:

Re: Gold Indian/ O/T

Pcgs Is not forthcoming with information on s/s/s variety, as far as I could tell. I like those old white ANACS holders . . And fort Knox called about some missing gold , told them I ain't seen nothing  ...... Both web sites have the major die variety S/S listed but no pricing as far...

Re: 1889 O with Rotated Reverse, Guess the grade!

AG03.

Rotated reverses are rarely found on anything but O-mints – a very notable exception being 1878-CC – and 1889 is one of the known rotation dates.

Re: 1882 o/s Morgan silver dollar Vam-4 EDS OR LDS

John: No it doesn't. I don't know the history details, but as best as I can tell "Weak" was simply the name someone gave to VAM 5 to describe the visual difference it has from VAMs 3 and 4... and it stuck. For all I know it could have been PCGS and it may have been inspired by the Weak vs. Strong 7/...

VAM 4 LDS. The upper diagonal remnant of the S is too complete to be an EDS:

Speaking of polishing lines, there are many on both sides of the coin:

1921-D VAM 1K1 (EDS)

I got a nice surprise a few days ago when a 1921-D arrived that I had been unable to attribute with the too-small auction pictures. I bought it anyway, which I do more often than I probably should, but there’s always a Christmas-like fun to unwrapping the package, getting out the loupes and close-up...

1898-S... VAM 2 I think?

VG08-ish coin with rim bruises. The open 9, and placements of the date & mint mark have me thinking VAM 2?
I have no experience with this date, so thanks for any help.

I could be wrong, because of the lighting. Are the two obverses shown the same coin?

All photos shown were downloaded off the auction listing.

Seller's auction photos shown.
Two-part guessing game here:

1. Guess what grade the certified holder says.
2. Say what your grade is.

Re: GC; 78 PCGS AU-58 V-44A & more

That is too bad, because the bidding went absolutely absurd – $1,375 including buyer's fee. The next-highest price I have for that grade the past three years is $168.
