Re: Short ANA Report

Great news John!
But I hope a pipeline of VSS submissions from G.C. doesn't wind up totally swamping you.

Re: 1879-S VAM-77A

The PCGS Pop Report appears to be messed up. Here's what comes up when I look at the 1879-S R78 VAMs -- there aren't even listings for VAM 77 and 77A : 1879-S R78 pops copy.jpg But when I enter the serial number of the coin shown by iceman (41774463), the coin does come up and it shows it as being a...

Re: 1879-S VAM-77A

PCGS apparently hasn't attributed one yet, because there aren't any in the Pop Report. I presume they would attribute 77A (or they might call it 77), because both are known Reverse of '78 varieties and PCGS attributes all of the others. I suspect that not having graded any so far speaks to how very ...

Hi Dennis
As always, I love your photos.
Did you try VAM-3GL2?

Thanks Lee!! :D
You put me on exactly the right track. My coin is a 'tweener between 3GL1 and 3GL2; it doesn't have any trace of the crack from M to the back of the cap that's seen on 3GL2.

a new 1921-P I think (solved)

Does anyone recognize anything on this D2 reverse coin? – Not a lot of scribbles on this coin, but what is there is pretty distinctive. – Lightly double-clashed at neck, but nothing anywhere else. – Big crack through date; several others on reverse. – Line inside ear. – Diagonal gouge in eagle's low...

Re: How accurate is the population counts?

Here are the numbers of coins that have been graded by ANACS, NGC and PCGS. But keep in mind that "graded by" doesn't mean they are all still in those holders. Some coins from one company may have been taken out of the holders and tried to cross over at another company, or taken out of the holders a...
