Yeah, I bought the Slab, not the coin; BTW, looks to be a nice unc. 1878-S V46. Nice paperweight for my desk.

Re: 131-PROOF DIE COMBINATION-??asking…MY BAD ON WRONG LISTING

Proof V131 have unique obverse and reverse dies that weren’t continued to be used for business strikes after striking the proof coins unlike 8tf V14.3 and 14.8. V131 die 1 has totally different obverse and reverse dies fro those used to strike proofs. It would have been less confusing I’d V131 die 1...

A nice mixture and nothing ventured nothing gained, eh?

For those of us still guessing, was the hope a 14.19?
Yes, I honestly thought I’d found a 14.19. ☹️

Re: 1st pick of 2022 (CRUSHED!)

ANACS order just arrived a short while ago. My hopes and dreams CRUSHED! Verdict: V6; ANACS G-4. That’ll teach me to try to attribute a lowball! I honestly was unable to see the usual V6 PUPs. But, it was cheap, so aside from paying for a higher tier slab fee and 🥚 on my face, it is back to th...

Likely NEW 1878-S die marriage

Reverse of V24, 30, 43.1 & 43.2, but it’s the obverse. No metal in 1st 8 so ruled out 43.2. No doubling of LIBERTY or eyelid…so…not 24 or 30. There is a small horizontal die crack thru the bottom of the neck, below the ‘m’ and extends over to the vee gap (location where clashed s or t might be seen ...
