V96 is still missing from the big P,Cc,S 1878 1st year basic super set. I added my specimen back to my 78-S set.

Agree with the review; a couple appear in the registry; a plea to post photos and for a review to see if attributions are indeed correct.

will have to get holder # next trip to the box and re-enter; grrrr….

Just picked up a NGC Mint Error 63 78-S with a neat reverse lamination at 6:00 on reverse; yeah lamination errors aren’t worth much of a premium but this is V 17DS2; polish lines above bow; tied as top in pop for the die state…

Not CAC worthy; maybe needs a - added to grade

62; don’t like the black stuff or the obv mark below the chin; i.e., no eye appeal; as this is a common as dirt V33, I wouldn’t want this as part of my set!

IMO, the variety is not hard to find; most are PL; owned several; clashed LDS are tougher again IMO. So, I am in The Grey Sheet crowd…

Well, I am not up to the 50 coin challenge, but John's work has given me food for thought for expanding my 1878 model year dollar set; looks like that would be roughly another 25 or so holes to fill..
