Re: Can't quite place this 1904-O vam, new vam perhaps?

Absolutely DO NOT rely on die cracks as these are not reliable markers. There could be different stages where cracks may show up, get worse or entirely disappear due to a die change in marriage.
Take this VAM for example, VAM-30 and VAM-30B.
It's the same thing, only different.

Re: 1922-P Peace Dollar---Wing Die Break and numerous die chips/gouges?

I agree with it being PMD. I can see where it looks like a "divot" and I can also see where it looks as if they're raised. If in fact they are raised, (as you would know best because its in your hands)they appear to be droplets of Hot metal. They appear to be of different color (like steel, etc.etc)...

I have no Horse in this race but I hope for your sake, he doesn't come thru with payment.
Because as of now, he looks bad but if his payment DOES come thru well then... ;)

Just sayin'.

1880-P VAM33A VS. 33B

Hi all. I'm pretty sure I've already lost my mind but now my eyes are playing tricks on me as well. I've recently picked 1 of these two VAMS and I sometimes can see the elusive "E" and at other times, I can't. I know they're a pain in the ass to photograph as well. Here's my question. Looks really nice in the position it's in...
Maybe a scratch on the jawline.
If it's bugging you enough to consider resending it, do it. Just might be worth it.
At least you'll get it out of your system. Best of luck either way.
