Re: Struck Thru Grease?
I am gaining a whole new perspective on grease. :) It seems to be kind of a shooting star through a die-paring; it's suddenly there and then just as quickly dissipates. Not at all like a die crack to a cud progression. They all are within the same Vam number; of course. Kurt28. Thank you for your co...

Re: Struck Thru Grease?
Thoughts on whether this would qualify at TPG for mint error variety for struck thru grease? All thoughts and comments welcome. Your post has gone in a lot of directions that I have been enjoying looking into. I just wanted to mention that I have found interesting details on a coin hidden under tha...

Re: High grade Bunny coin
And the verdict is ..... guilty. I did this one and got it wrong. If you ever want it fixed, just toss it in with an order and note that I said this one was a freebie. May I suggest leaving this coin 'as is'. It would fill a huge hole in my collection of NAOH's. :) on my wishlist. "As many collecto...

Re: Is there any vams that are with the 1921 d JOH-22 small break above m Morgan?
@Geseas how would one go about getting a vam number listed for it that would be really cool. I'm curious on how people get errors attributed by them? Yes, that would be very cool. I believe you are definitely on the right path, as you can see already. The good folks here will help you through the b...

Re: Is there any vams that are with the 1921 d JOH-22 small break above m Morgan?
You will find that most Joh numbers have been given a Vam number but not all So, again, if all Morgans are VAMs, why not all? I have been contemplating the same thing; since we discussed this anomaly a [ http://www.vamworld.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5545&p=47475&hilit=JOH#p47475 ] I think it is...

Re: I may have met my match (21-P VAM 1)
...I am afraid to admit I am still stuck on the first photograph and comments in this informative post. Does the following photograph match DHalladay 's first photo in this post? I think it does. Sooo: is this photo all the evidence you need to prove it is indeed the die-doubling, not machine doubli...

A trusted tool in the right hands... Thanks for sharing Dennis. You help a lot of folks out. *side note: D. In an effort to improve my photography I have been studying your last photographs. I have spotted one thing in common we have with our coin photography set-ups. I will post the photo as soon a...

Re: 1921-P VAM 48 photo
Dennis, I wanted to comment on how excellent your photographs are on this site and maybe get you to share how you are accomplishing this feat. It can't be that digital camera with a set of dusty old bellows... I am also reminded of a conversation I had here with CascadeChris a while ago regarding ma...

@DHalladay Is it possible you may be flexing the rules with the photography you have been sharing as of late?

Stubbled on Lib. neck (1880 S Vam 70)
Hello everyone A friend asked me to look at a few coins of his. I found this interesting and wanted to share and learn. Thanks for any comments on this great site. What may be going on here? It kind of looks like extrusions from a cake decorator tool. laird stubble.jpg gcs_1880_S.jpg laird 1880s.jpg...

Re: Vam designation "JOH-23" 1921-D
I don't believe it is a JOH-23. The crack from the first 1 in '1921' to denticle indicates to me it may be a coin from the 1921-D Vam H series.

"some dated political element"? Seriously? Why does everything these days have to have a conspiracy angle? Why does everything have to be due to a sinister political agenda? "Fun with '21" is 18 years old. Maybe the updated information has simply fallen through the cracks during the passage of time...
