The Colonel was kind enough to send me the coin for examination. While I could not convincingly photograph any displacement across the die crack, it has a die gouge at the rim below O of GOD for which I will give it a new listing. I have seen this before. Give me a few days to pull my 1923D set to compare. I have identified about 100 die marriages, & suspect that this is one of the unlisted ones.

To bring this one back to the top, I need to look at my 1923S files for this & other coins.

I am not convince that this coin is a VAM 1W, the die scratches especially in the lower rays do not appear to be the same as shown on the VAMworld page. With 1921 Peace having an estimated 400 die marriages, there are a multitude of unlisted clashed/polished varieties, of your appears to be one. Hop...

On the macro on the VAMworld page for VAM 1o, there is a horizontal die scratch from the snout of the 2nd 1 in date extending left.
I agree with the Colonel, try VAM 1W.

Regarding VAM 2K2, you found the variety, even if it was initially given a different listing, so you still get credit for it.

Nice pickup! I am not sure of any doubled dies in Morgans which can match this one. Maybe Hotlips? Maybe Shifted eagle?

The rim appears to be fairly well struck up, so I would lean toward a grease strike through.

Nice Pickup!!

I found a specimen of this variety. This reverse is paired with a minor doubled die obverse, most prominent on the DI.
The die scratch on the leaves is a useful die marker, but not obvious enough to warrant a listing on its own. I am still studying the coin re: giving it a listing.
