An accidental 'pick
I recently bought some unattributed AU 1921-Ds at Great Collections, to see what they were and perhaps add some new photos to the scribbles attribution guide. Much to my delight, one turned out to be an EDS VAM 1X1 – the embryonic stage of the one-of-a-kind (so far) obverse rim cud VAM 1X2. I'm old ...

Re: 1921 p VAM help
Well, it has a D2 reverse... so that eliminates the 144 D1 reverse possibilities. Unfortunately, that still leaves 322 possibilities to sort through, and there is nothing in your photos to help narrow down that number. What is needed is the closest close-up you can manage of this area: 1671742727787...

That's one of the 6A-B-C-D coins, right?
Yes, the thing on the wing looks like PMD to me.

Congrats – and thanks! – to all three of you for the time, effort and sharing of coins and information to make this research possible. It's collaborations like this whose importance helps not only collectors today, but those in the future for decades to come.

Re: OLD R & I Ratings Discontinued
In my opinion - if you want a rarity factor assigned to all 8,000 - 10,000 VAMs - MAKE one and then sell it to the masses. Good luck. Producing said data would be a fantastic amount of work and selling it I suspect would be even more difficult. Do the work - do not just sit there and snivel because...

That 1904-S in VF35 is truly disturbing.
At first glance, I'm not sure I could justify VF20.

Re: Help needed w 1921d vam identification
The obverse looks like Vam 1Q, however the reverse doest show the die crack through his right ( my right ) on the reverse. This is why Im stumped. Remember, die cracks continuously evolve (grow) over the life of the die. Early die state coins can and often do have no cracks whatsoever, whereas very...

The 61 button bit me in 2020 in a bulk order I was part of here on VAMworld. It's a grade I had rarely seen over several hundred previous 1921-P coins submitted, but out of 39 coins in this particular batch I got twelve 61s. What a reaming. On top of that, an NGC MS63 crack-out (I just wanted it in ...

Re: 1896 morgan pci rating 65+. What's it worth
1896 is one of the many "common dates" in the Morgan series. The accuracy of PCI grades tend to be poorly regarded in the coin marketplace, so prices for PCI coins are often significantly discounted compared to PCGS and NGC coins of the same grade. I would expect a PCI MS65+ coin to sell for MS64 mo...
