Re: 1922-D VAM-2A evil mimic - unknown darkside find
This coin is in my stack of those to be listed, since you posted your coin here, I am happy to give you credit for the discovery. The listing is to be as follows: 1922D VAM 2CF - Retained cud below Y #2 Die cracks obverse, with raised area cud below Y terminating in radial die crack K3 Unclashed B2 ...

Re: Poss. New 1922-P Peace Variety (B1 Reverse with spike clash)
I have seen this before. While the single clash would not be lastable as a new VAM, the overpolished area below the mountains & die scribbles above 92 in the date might be. I believe that I have the coin - if it is listable, I will give you credit for discovery, but am still organizing me inventory.

Re: First Peace dollar kill 2022
Please accept my humble apology for any confusion, I got ahead of myself as I was doing this post. VAM 60 is same as VAM 2BW2, VAM 2BW does not have this reverse die chip.

First Peace dollar kill 2022
1922 VAM 60 is same as VAM 2BW2, please give credit for the kill to Adam Sutton. In Leroy's defense, getting both the vertical die gouge and the horizontal die scratch in the same photo was very difficult. IMHO, the DDO is too minor to list, as it is not easily seen with a 10x loupe. 1922 VAM 2BW2 D...

Re: 1922 Pitted obverse without shoulder spike
The dies which produced your coin were certainly worn, accounting for the features seen. I've seen this one before, the die cracks at Y are diagnostic, but there is no displacement of the field, There certainly are Peace dollars which were struck from rusted dies, the most notable being the 1923S VA...

Re: 1926-S VAM 3K2
There is more to this story than I had initially thought. After looking at my coins, VAM 3K1 came first, followed by EDS VAM 3K2 (your coin) then LDS VAM 3K2 (my discovery coin), then VAM 3K3, which is paired with a new obverse die. My VAM 3K1 has minor rev die polishing, but not nearly as dramatic ...

Re: 1926-S VAM 3K2
I think the question is related to the number of distinct die states (DS) - DS 1 (VAM 3K1) has the die scratch neck w/o obv or rev die ;polish, DS 2 has either rev die polish of VAM 3K3 w/o obv die polish or obv polish in right field w/o reverse polish, DS 3 has both die polish on right field obv & ...

Re: Clashed Parical E OBV
I don't think that this is a VAM 1AF1,. The area where the clashed E is suppose to be looks polished, and the reverse isn't right.
If you can clearly see a partial clashed E, then you have a great new discovery.

Re: 1923-S VAM 5
My VAM 5 is clashed also, so I suspect that the unclashed version is more scarce. However, unless this reverse is paired with 2 different obverse dies, I don't see justification for a new listing. If it HAS been paired with 2 different obverse dies, then I would list them as VAM 5A, 5B as was done f...

Re: 1926-S VAM 3K2
It appears that your coin is a currently unlisted die state between VAM 3K3 (which occurred earlier) and VAM 3K2, as my discovery coin has the file lines in the LLQ of the obverse. Without seeing the discovery coin for VAM 3K3, I don't know if Leroy would list your coin as a subvariety (VAM 3K3a?, V...

Nice pickup! Does it have the file lines in the left lower quadrant of the obverse? Hard to tell from the photo.

Re: 1923S PEACE VAM HELP.
Not listed. I am tracking about 100 more 1923S die varieties, this is one of the better ones. I would expect Leroy to list it, as the die polishing lines in the right field are obvious, and the die cracks are diagnostic.
Nice pickup!
