VAMWorld 2.0

On the wiki, there is a "search VAMWorld" box in the upper right of each page. If you search for something that is the exact match for the name of a page, you will be taken directly to that page with no further clicking on search results. Typing "1883-O VAMs" takes you directly to the listing of 188...

I had the "remember me" issue until yesterday when I fixed the forum's cookie configuration. Then I deleted my browser cookies and logged in and it's been working OK.

If you've been having difficulty logging in, clear your browser cache and cookies and fry again. I had to reconfigure the cookies when the URL changed.

Is there a cataloged match for the lopsided mint mark set slightly left and upright?

I guess I'd refer to the bold line as a heading for the listing, and the rest as the specification. What it's actually called depends on whether or not Leroy actually calls it something.

I don't drink coffee, so techinically every thread I answer is after I've had a beer.

Heavy die wear. Eventually, the fields of a die will receive a "ghost" image from the outline of the design on the opposite die due to the way the metal flows. You are seeing the outline of the eagle's wings in the obverse field. The thinner the coin, the sooner these show up.

Nice. When you find a well-struck 21-S with silky luster, you buy it. The spot on the lower reverse bugs me, but it's otherwise a nice looking coin.

I have them. I posted it on the BST board. I haven't done much with them due to wrapping up the migration and the ANA show, but now I can spend time getting everything worked up and getting people their grades and fees.

I'll have to fix it tonight (probably by 5:00 CDT). This might have to do with my attempt at enabling inlining external image links last night.

I had an interesting conversation with David McCarthy (numismatist at Kagin's, ANA Numismatist of the Year for 2018) on Saturday about this and other interesting long nock stuff that's been in the news.
