Re: Apply VamWorld Knowledge gently to your other areas
vamsterdam I did a history search on this new machine of the sites I went to that day looking for that Walker book. I think I found the spot where you became John Roberts, (vampicker). I apologize for my mistake. I admire writers and encourage you to continue your work on those Walking Liberty half...

@vamsterdam
I did some searching for your co-authored book and had the opportunity to read some of your articles. Is that book available somewhere? I enjoy your writing and would certainly encourage that 'Supplement' to the Walker Book.

Re: 1900 p.... VAM-Misstrike- Error- What is it?
An interesting mystery! here is my two cents' worth on this topic. I usually look to our natural world to solve problems. SilverToken 's 1900-P photo reminds me of a frozen lake in the spring. The ice will recede around any protruding object also along the shoreline (the rim of the coin) as things w...

Re: Apply VamWorld Knowledge gently to your other areas
It may be fun to go out on the Bay to try and snag another Walker; just like this one.
The '1' should provide an easy PUP, even with the poor photos on eBay.
Has anyone tried to do for Walking Liberty Half Dollars what LVA and friends, (you guys), have done for the Morgan & Peace Dollar?

Apply VamWorld Knowledge gently to your other areas
Please take a look at this '1' in '1920' as if this were on a Morgan.
My guess is PMD. The outlined in red has some potential for a die crack but looks to be hidden by damage... Thanks for your insights and questions.

I was hoping I wouldn't need a big red line to indicate where a crack is...I was thinking; with today's Technology. ...I am Not talking about this: LP-825x340.jpg ZyGlo Rather, a series of photos with varied light only. Re: 1922-(P) VAM-2AP
Now that is much better , I can agree VAM 2AP .. Your gouge can be common do to clashed die . [/b] Thank you for photos and insight. I have a question with, "Your gouge can be common." How is this determined? I own nine 1922-P I am looking at now. I see a hint of something going on in that area; on...

Re: Peace dollar Slanted reverses
Lurch29165 You have peaked my interest, especially that 1922 you mentioned. I am a little confused on overlay business. Here is a photo attempt of what is considered/accepted a +5 degree overlay: plus 5 degree attempt.jpg ...it is about 5'. (I put a protractor on the screen) Note: my drawing above ...

Re: 1923-S VAM help
The field on the Peace Dollar obv., under the R in LIBERTY and above hair ; is that area studied much as a clash area? Those die file lines in your first photo are there for a reason. This photo of a 1923-S VAM-1M obv. has a lot going on in that area, also 1923-S VAM-1R obv. I know you are familiar ...

Re: 1923-S Die Rust and Wear?
Clogged, cracked and over used die. No rust. Thanks for bringing this to my attention RogerB . I just looked over the 23-S VAM photos and found the word "rust" was not mentioned by Leroy. He used the word "pitted". Their is a difference in my opinion. Here are a few of his examples: 1923-S_VAM-1P_P...

Re: 1923-S Die Rust and Wear?
Could be VAM 1Ci. The photos are in the VAM updated , but there is no clear die marker other than the die wear/rust spots, and late die state of many dies have this feature with a similar pattern. Thanks davidkclose , is the VAM updated a supplement? Not much for die markers only this die crack/bre...

1923-S Die Pitted and Worn?
Hello everyone. I have been attempting to attribute this 1923-S. Please take a look at this obverse; could we be looking at a VAM-1Ci? I have not been able to locate a photo for a comparison...yet. Thank you for any comments! gcs_1923-S.jpeg A couple photos close-up: GCS3909.jpg GCS3913.JPG GCS3894....

Re: Database of 'stolen' or missing coins?
keilg1 You have flushed out my underlying reasons for mentioning this poll option thing within your thread. A poll is powerful tool with a variety of applications including a possible use here with this data quest. It seems rarely used in Vamworld and when it is used, there is very little participa...
